Meet the Woman Behind Mississippi Memaw

Born and raised in Mississippi, I'm Jenny, better known as Mississippi Memaw. I'm a wife, mama of four, grandmother, dental assistant, content creator, and storyteller raised on grits and gumption.

My journey hasn't exactly been conventional. Pregnant at 16 and a mother at 17, I went on to earn my GED, graduate from college, and build a life full of unexpected twists and turns. I've learned that where you start doesn't have to determine where you finish.

What began as sharing a little Southern humor and everyday life on social media grew into something I never imagined. Along the way, I've had opportunities to speak on stages, judge events, and connect with people from all walks of life.

I'm a lover of history, good books, deep conversations, and finding humor in the ordinary. I believe you're never too old to learn something new, chase a dream, or start over.

I'm not everybody's cup of sweet tea, and that's perfectly fine.

I'm just a Mississippi girl with a whole lot of stories left to tell.

Where It All Started

Believe it or not, Mississippi Memaw's journey started with a little place called the Dollar Holler in Purvis, Mississippi. I never set out to become a content creator. I was just being myself, sharing a little humor, and finding something funny in everyday life. Sometimes the most unexpected things lead you somewhere you never imagined.

The Pickle That Changed Everything

Then came the viral Pickle Dr Pepper video. Who would've thought a pickle and a soft drink would help put Mississippi Memaw on the map? What started as a funny little moment reached people far beyond Mississippi and opened doors I never expected. And to think, it all started with a pickle!

A Few Accomplishments Along the Way

I've had some incredible opportunities that I never could've imagined! I've been nominated for a Josie Music Award and a Pinnacle Award, served as a judge for Mississippi's Miss Hospitality competition and a Christmas parade, delivered a GED graduation speech at Pearl River Community College, and thrown out the ceremonial first pitch at a Biloxi Shuckers baseball game.

I've also appeared in the country music video Ballad of Big Tent Road by A Band of Jones, gone viral for discovering a painting that looked remarkably like me, and taken the stage for my very own Mississippi Memaw Dinner and a Show at the Moose Lodge. I even received a casting opportunity for The Traitors!

But some of my proudest accomplishments happened long before social media. I became a mother at 17, earned my GED, graduated from college, built a career in dentistry, and returned to school in my forties.

Not bad for a Mississippi girl raised on grits and gumption. And I'm nowhere near finished!

With the painting I found on the internet.
